God's Mighty Acts

Introduction

Over the years I have run into many people who have been blessed by God in many and wonderful ways. Since Jesus Christ is "the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow" (Hebrews 13:8), we can expect God in Jesus Christ to do today what Scripture narrates Jesus did in the flesh. Therefore, to encourage others who may be suffering without God's help, and to challenge the Church to believe that Jesus Christ is alive and doing what he always did, I include these witnesses to God's mighty acts. In other essays I place these acts in a theological context. For example, in another essay I show that God's trinitarian life implies that God will act miraculously to redeem and bless his people. Here, as evidence that our God is still alive, I describe some of the great things that he has done. Finally, these are human stories. They are not Scripture. If we wish to think aright and see the fullness of God's saving acts, we must read, believe, and obey Scripture. This means that these essays are not sources of Christian truth, but they do confirm the truths sufficiently revealed in Scripture, and they show that Jesus Christ is very much alive. Let him be praised forever.

How God saved, protected, and answered the prayer of a man who called out to him.

Testimonies of Christians in Nepal who converted to Christianity from either Buddhism or Hinduism.

Describes how God delivered a man of a terrible affliction.

Describes how the risen Jesus commanded a woman to "Rise Lazarus," bringing her out of a severe depression caused in part by terrible abuse suffered over the course of a lifetime.
